A young woman placed herself between my soldiers and Palestinian boys throwing rocks. making herself an obvious target to both. In doing so she limited the damage both could do to each other by placing herself in the middle.
Huwaida
Words and Music by Daniel Dworsky

They put my baby in a uniform
Like me, my brother and my daddy before.
This isn’t ‘xactly what I’s raising him for
The future isn’t what it is anymore.

I spent one summer with my ass in harms way
Some nut from Brooklyn aiming for it all day
No one believes or hears a thing that we say
Except two cops and Brooklyn blows them away

Huwaida, It’s not my fault. Say it’s not my fault

My minds protected by the skin of a bubble
You ask the question. You make SO much trouble
I saw you out there with you hands in the air
Right there on You tube with your hands in the air

Girl you’re my hero with your hands in the air.
Hero’s a girls now with her hands in the air.
Heros are girls now with their hands in the air.
See where I’m going?
PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR!

Huwaida, It’s not my fault. Say it’s not my fault

So many children and then Rachel and Tom
So many children after Rachel and Tom.
They all have names they have names and they’re gone
How long? How long? How long? How long?

Huwaida, It’s not my fault. Say it’s not my fault.
